Myths

The most common myth is that Hyams Beach, Jervis Bay, New South Wales has an entry in the Guiness Book of Records as the whitest beach in the world. A bold claim, and totally devoid of fact as there is no such entry in the Guiness Book of Records, and there was no competition to award Hyams Beach this title.

Yes, the sands there are undoubtedly white, but not the whitest in Australia (see results tab), and there has been no formal competition to determine the whitest beach in the world.
